At Limoncello Catering, Earth Day isn’t just one day – it’s a daily commitment baked into everything we do. As a sustainable caterer based in the heart of London, we’re proud to celebrate Earth Day by spotlighting how our values align with protecting the planet and nurturing eco-conscious choices.
Sustainable from the Start
From sourcing to service, sustainability drives our decisions. We prioritise seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, partnering with British farmers to support ethical, low-impact agriculture. This reduces the carbon footprint of long-distance transport while ensuring the freshest, most flavourful menus for our clients.
Fighting Food Waste One Plate at a Time
The UK hospitality industry generates 1+ million tonnes of food waste annually, and we’re working to change that. Our goal? A 50% reduction by 2030, aligned with WRAP & Circular Economy strategies.
Our chefs plan ingredient quantities with precision, repurpose trimmings into flavourful seasonings, and vacuum-pack surplus for future use. Even unused bread and fillings find a purpose – shared with our team or gifted to clients – ensuring nothing goes to waste.
Packaging with Purpose
We’ve said goodbye to single-use plastics. Instead, we use compostable and biodegradable palm-leaf plates, and other plant-based materials that break down naturally, helping reduce landfill and lower our environmental footprint.
Greener Deliveries Across London
With a new kitchen based in Central London, our logistics team can now serve clients more efficiently across the city. All of our delivery vehicles meet ULEZ standards, and we reduce emissions further by batching deliveries and offering disposable service ware when clients choose not to schedule collections.
Working Together for Greener Events
We actively collaborate with clients to deliver more sustainable events; offering zero-waste menus, compostable crockery, and practical waste-reduction tips. From conferences to picnics, we prove that eco-conscious catering never means compromising on quality or style.
Looking Ahead
Earth Day is a reminder that there’s always more we can do. We’re currently exploring:
- New alternatives to cling film
- Greater use of regenerative and organic produce
- On-site composting and community food redistribution
- Continued energy-efficiency improvements across our operations
