Wild Flavors, Limoncello Style

October 28th marks Wild Foods Day, a moment to pause and reconnect with the natural world – and the food it so generously provides. At Limoncello Catering, this day is especially close to our hearts.
What is Wild Foods Day?
It celebrates foraging, seasonal produce, and a closer connection between people and the planet. It encourages us to look at food not just as something to consume, but as a gift – one that deserves respect and thoughtful sourcing. It’s about understanding where ingredients come from, reducing waste, and finding beauty in the simplicity of nature’s harvest.
Our Homage to the Wild
In honour of Wild Foods Day, we’re highlighting two of our favourite homemade staples — both deeply rooted in local, sustainable practice.
• Piccalilli: A bright, tangy pickle made entirely from scratch in our kitchen. Each jar bursts with hand-chopped vegetables, mixed and marinated to perfection.
We believe in making the most of seasonal gluts, turning surplus produce into something delicious that lasts all year.
• Apple Chutney: Our chutney is crafted from apples grown in our very own chef’s allotment — truly local produce, nurtured by the same hands that prepare your meals. By growing and using our own ingredients, we reduce food miles, cut down on packaging, and stay connected to the land that sustains us.
Why It Matters
At Limoncello Catering, sustainability isn’t just a practice – it’s our passion. From sourcing locally to minimising waste, we strive to make choices that are kind to the environment while delivering exceptional flavour. Wild Foods Day reminds us that every ingredient has a story – and when we respect where it comes from, food simply tastes better!
So join us in celebrating the wild side of food – the homegrown, the handmade, and the heart-led.
